FAQ FOR USERS

General Information

How does U'GO Pros work?

Simple — three steps. Tell us what you need done, get quotes from trusted local pros, and pick the one you like. You accept their estimate, they come evaluate the work, you approve the final cost — and your payment is held safely until the job is finished and you confirm you're happy. That's it.

How is U'GO Pros different from Thumbtack, Angi, or HomeAdvisor?

Three big differences. One: requesting quotes is free, and you can name your price. Two: pros don't pay us for leads, so they're not desperate to win back money they already spent — the price you get is honest. Three: your payment is held until the job is done, so the pro can't run with your money. And both sides rate each other, so everybody stays accountable.

Do you vet professionals before their services are made available?

Each pro is vetted to ensure that they are a real business and have proper insurance credentials.

What kinds of pros can I find here?

Home, auto, and exclusive services — plumbers, electricians, and handymen, but also mobile mechanics, detailers, tutors, caterers, and more. If it's a skilled service, there's probably a pro for it here.

What if something goes wrong with my job?

Talk to your pro first — most issues get worked out directly. Every job is rated on both sides, and pros with a pattern of bad ratings are removed from the platform. If you ever feel stuck, reach out to us at info@ugopros.com and we'll help.

How do I track my expenses?

You can not only add credits for larger projects, but you can see all the jobs closed and completed in your account. This way you can go back and see all your expenses.

Locations

Can I request a service for a location I'm not currently at?

Of course! Once you are logged into the app, you can update the address that is on file to change it to a new location.

Where can I use U'GO Pros?

All services must be contracted and completed within the United States. Services are not supported in any U.S. territories.

What if I can't find the service I need?

We are constantly working to improve access for consumers. If a service you are looking for is not available, we would love to hear from you so that we can improve access to professionals in your area. Please email us at info@ugopros.com.

Ordering a Service

How can I request a rush job or an emergency service?

You can rush your request by utilizing the Instant request option. This will connect you with the first available professional qualified to address your needs.

Can I order a service for someone else?

Yes. The service you request will come out of the payment method on file. It doesn't matter the location or for which individual. As long as you agree to the terms and the final price the project will be completed.

Instant Service

What is Instant Service? Does it cost extra?

Instant Service connects you with the first available professional to address your needs. While receiving free quotes, you get to choose the professional to help you with your project. There is no additional charge for Instant Service.

Pricing

How do payments work? When am I actually charged?

Here's the full picture. A pro sends you an estimate and you accept it — at that point nothing is charged and nothing is held; you've just agreed to move forward. The pro then comes out, evaluates the work in person, and gives you a final cost. You review and accept that final cost — and only then are the funds taken and held safely. When the job is finished and you confirm you're happy, the payment is released to the pro. You always see and approve the final number before a dollar moves.

Why do you hold the money? What does that protect me from?

So a pro can never take your money and disappear, and you never pay for work that isn't finished. Once you've accepted the final cost, the funds are held safely until you confirm the job's done right. It's the protection we wish every homeowner had.

Is U'GO Pros really free for customers?

Yes. There are no annual fees and no membership fees. Requesting quotes is free — request as many as you'd like.

Is my payment information safe?

Yes. Payments are processed securely, and pros never see your card or bank details — they only ever see the job and the held amount.

Is the price that I'm quoted exactly what I'll pay?

The estimate is a starting point, not the final price. After you accept an estimate, the pro comes out to evaluate the work in person and then gives you a final cost. You review and accept that final number — nothing is charged or held until you do.

Am I expected to tip the service provider?

It is not customary to tip a service provider. However, if you find their work to be exceptional we would not discourage it. This would be done outside of our application.

Cancellations

How do cancellations work?

You can cancel a project anytime. However, once you've accepted the final cost and the funds are held, cancelling will incur a 5% cancellation fee.

Rating Consumers & Service Providers

Do professionals rate consumers? Why do ratings matter?

Yes! As a commitment to accountability, both professionals and consumers are able to rate their interactions with one another. This is to encourage both courteous behavior and quality of service. Ratings help us gauge the quality of the services provided — if an industry professional continues to receive bad ratings, we will suspend them from using U'GO Pros.

FAQ FOR Pros

U’GO Pros vs “The Other Guys”

Why should industry professionals sign up for U'GO Pros?

U'GO Pros allows you to connect with local consumers quickly. Starting an account is free along with sending quotes. Simple, fair pricing: 10% on smaller jobs, stepping down to just 2% on bigger jobs. No subscriptions, no lead fees — you only pay when the job is done.

Do I have to pay for leads?

No. Never. Sending quotes is free, and you don't pay a cent unless you actually complete a job. We don't think you should pay for work you didn't get.

How is U'GO Pros different from Angi, Thumbtack, or HomeAdvisor?

They charge you per lead — you pay whether you win the job or not. We charge nothing up front and only a small percentage when a job completes. Signup is free, quotes are free, and the customer's payment is held before you start, so you never finish a job and chase a check.

General Information

How do I get more jobs?

The pros who win the most work do the same things: a complete profile with real photos, fast responses to quote requests, keeping their availability turned on, and great ratings from finished jobs. Do good work, respond quickly, and the app does the rest.

Can I message and work with my customers directly?

All messaging and payment stays in the app — that's what protects both sides. The customer knows their money is safe, and you know the money's actually there before you start.

How many employees can I add as active users in my account?

There is no limit. You can assign as many employees as you would like. You can also reassign jobs to different employees if you need to.

How do I set up notifications?

Notifications along with online settings are in your settings tab. At the top of the menu area is a little button to put you online or offline. This is for the instant availability option.

Is there a way to track my business use of U'GO Pros?

In our system, you can see all your past invoices along with current open projects.

Locations

Can I change the range of my search for consumers?

You can update the range in your account. In your profile, you can change the range by adding or subtracting categories. This can all be done in the settings tab.

Where can I use U'GO Pros?

All services must be contracted and completed within the United States. Services are not supported in any U.S. territories.

Instant Service

What is the advantage of Instant Service? Does it cost more?

Instant Service allows you to quickly connect with consumers who need your help fast! There are no additional charges for Instant Service.

Prices

What are the fees?

Simple and fair: 10% on smaller jobs, stepping down to just 2% on bigger jobs — and only when the job is done. No subscriptions, no lead fees, no charge for sending quotes. The bigger the job, the smaller our cut.

What's the Platinum Pro badge?

An optional monthly upgrade that sets you above the rest — extra visibility and advantage on the platform. It's the only thing on U'GO Pros you'd ever pay for out of pocket; everything else about the service is free. The monthly price is listed in the app.

How do I get paid, and when?

When a customer accepts your estimate, nothing is charged yet — you've just agreed to move forward. You go out, evaluate the work, and submit your final cost. Once the customer accepts it, the funds are held. Finish the job, the customer confirms, and the payment is released to you. You always know the money's there before you start the work, and you never finish a job and chase a check.

Can I split payments on big jobs?

Yes. On jobs of $5,000 or more, you can set up phased payouts — up to three separate payment releases across the job. It keeps cash flow moving on longer projects.

Is there really no subscription? I saw something about an annual fee in the Terms.

There is no subscription fee, and you'll never be charged one. The Terms mention a lifetime waiver, which is our legal way of locking that in permanently — it's guaranteed in writing, not just a promise on a pricing page. The only optional paid extra is the Platinum Pro badge.

Is there a fee to send a quote?

No! We are committed to keeping quotes free for professionals.

Is the price that I quoted exactly what I have to charge?

No. Your estimate is a starting point — it reserves nothing and charges no one. After the customer accepts your estimate, you evaluate the work in person and submit your final cost for them to accept. Once they accept, the funds are held.

Cancellations

How do cancellations work?

If the consumer cancels after accepting your final cost — once the funds are held — they are charged a 5% cancellation fee.

Rating Consumers & Service Providers

Can I rate my consumers?

Yes! We are committed to keeping both users and consumers accountable.
